Pastor Elder Nathaniel Edwards Jr. is the eldest son and third child born into the union of Detroit natives the late Bishop Nathaniel Edwards Sr. and the late Diane Charlene Briggs-Edwards now of Lansing Michigan. From an early age Pastor Edwards was thoroughly immersed in the lasting culture of a strong Godly immediate family, and a blessed church environment as members of Clinton Street Greater Bethlehem Temple. From the age of 10 years old he started on the road of musical education, especially learning how to play piano and organ. Pastor Edwards was taught by some of the most prolific musicians, instructors, and professors of Gospel, Classical, Sacred, Jazz, and other forms of music.  Pastor Edwards was baptized in Jesus’ name, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in October of 1970. Pastor Edwards was educated in the Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Southeastern High School with Honors in 1978. God has blessed Pastor Edwards to pursue a lot of musical ventures which includes: Minister of Music for Clinton Street, Calvary Baptist, Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C, Messias Temple of Ypsilanti, Soul Deliverance Church, and many other assemblies. Pastor Edwards is a well sought-after teacher for piano and organ instruction. He also has served as the Vocal Music instructor for I.H.M school. 

 

Pastor Edwards is a lifelong worshipper and student of the Word of God, who reads and studies the Word voraciously, praying and communicating with God regularly.  Pastor Edwards values being a good family man, as husband to First Lady Lorraine, father of Nathaniel III, Lorissa, Bryan, and Tamra, and proud grandfather of many beautiful grandchildren. As a businessman, in 2002 Pastor Edwards founded Edwards’ Music in Farmington Hills, Michigan. At that time, he had the only piano dealership in the nation which was owned and operated by an African-American.  After heeding the call to ministry many years ago, he taught in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, the Prison & Jail ministry, street ministry and the Outreach ministry. Pastor Edwards mentors many young men and women and he has preached in various churches around the area.

 

God spoke to Pastor Edwards and First Lady Lorraine about establishing a place of Worship for people in the community. Pastor Edwards and First Lady Lorraine joyfully embarked out on Pastoral Ministry in December 2012 and founded Transforming Faith Ministries. It was first located in the Quality Inn Hotel in Livonia Michigan with a small but loyal group of members, who helped the church to grow substantially, over the last 9 years. After moving to the Plymouth Rd location in 2014, TFM and Pastor Edwards has baptized over 55 souls in Jesus’ precious name with many receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. Many others has joined in as members of the TFM Family. Pastor Edwards and the congregation moved in October 2018 into their present location at 12065 Outer Drive West, Detroit Michigan 48223.
